Franco-German Dialogue on Intercultural Mediation in Corte, Corsica

The Siracusa International Institute’s President, Jean-François Thony, will take part in the Franco-German Dialogue in favour of Intercultural Mediation: Geopolitical, Legal and Linguistic Challenges, to be held in Corte, Corsica, on 21 and 22 October 2026.

The event is organised by the Franco-German University and the University of Corsica, in cooperation with the Franco-German Youth Office, DAAD France and the Familie Mehdorn Stiftung. Scientific experts and representatives of cultural institutions will discuss current global challenges from a multidisciplinary and international perspective, and the role of dialogue in protecting democracy, upholding international law and respecting cultural diversity.

On 22 October, at the University of Corsica, President Thony will speak at the first round table, “International relations put to the test by geopolitical crises”. The session will be moderated by Wanda Mastor, Professor at the University of Corsica. Other speakers include Nicolas Guillou, Judge at the International Criminal Court, François Roux, Honorary Lawyer, and Birte Wassenberg, Vice-President of the University of Strasbourg.

 

Practical information

The event will be held in French and is open to anyone interested. Participation is free, but prior registration is required. The registration deadline is 11 October 2026.
