This week, The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights was in Doha for the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held from 15 to 19 December 2025 in Qatar.
On this occasion, Jean-François Thony , President of The Siracusa International Institute, was invited by the Supreme Judiciary Council of the State of Qatar to take part in a side event dedicated to the role of judicial codes of conduct in strengthening integrity, impartiality and public trust in justice, key pillars in the prevention of corruption.

Building on these discussions, Jean-François Thony then travelled to Dubai to meet with the Prosecutor General and to sign a cooperation agreement between the Public Prosecution of Dubai and the Siracusa Institute.

This agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in judicial training, capacity building, applied research and the exchange of good practices in the fields of criminal justice and the rule of law.
The fight against corruption and financial crime lies at the very core of the Siracusa Institute’s mission. This week in Doha and Dubai is a concrete illustration of that long-standing commitment, through high-level dialogue and practical partnerships aimed at strengthening judicial integrity worldwide.
