Between May 31 and June 2, Mr. Filippo Musca, Deputy Director of the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights (Siracusa International Institute), is attending the Annual General Meeting of the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) in Stockholm.
ILAC is a consortium of over 50 professional legal organizations and experts from all over the world and the Institute was officially elected as a new member at the 2017 general meeting in Japan. The consortium mainly aims to strengthen the independence of justice sector institutions and to rebuild workable justice systems that are based on the rule of law and the protection of human rights in conflict-affected and fragile countries.
The meeting involves several working sessions, including presentations on Rule of law Assessment Reports and the presentation of the Consortium’s programmatic work. Participants were welcomed yesterday by Ms. Elizabeth Howe, ILAC’s President.
