Siracusa Institute Partners in University of Minnesota and Syracuse Academy Summer Program

10/07/2026

Last Friday, students from the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center completed the final exam of the 2026 International Human Rights Law Course, bringing to a close three weeks of intensive learning and academic exchange. The course was organised by the Syracuse Academy in partnership with the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center.

As the programme’s institutional partner, the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights contributed throughout the course by delivering lectures, academic supervision and research mentoring on contemporary migration issues. Through this practice-oriented approach, students had the opportunity to engage directly with experienced practitioners and academics while connecting legal theory with current global challenges.

Over the course of the programme, participants explored key areas of international law, including International Human Rights Law, International Criminal Law, Crimes Against Humanity, Refugee Law, Migration Law, War Crimes and Genocide.

The Siracusa International Institute is pleased to have once again supported this educational initiative and thanks the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center and the Syracuse Academy for their continued collaboration. We congratulate all participants on completing the course and wish them every success in their future academic and professional endeavours.
