ILAC is a consortium of over 50 professional legal organizations and experts from all over the world. It gathers wide-ranging legal expertise from different contexts to help rebuild justice systems in countries that are in conflict, post-conflict, or are transitioning towards peace and democracy. The consortium aims to strengthen the independence of justice sector institutions and to rebuild workable justice systems that are based on the rule of law and the protection of human rights in conflict-affected and fragile countries. For this mission, ILAC works in close partnership with judges, prosecutors, court administrators and lawyers’ associations from all over the world.

In the course of proceedings of ILAC’s Annual General Meeting, the Siracusa Institute has been officially elected as a new member of the consortium. The Siracusa Institute is honored to become a new member of the consortium and commits to promoting its mission and values.
