Between 12-17 June, 2023 the 22nd Specialization Course in International Criminal Law for Young Penalists ‘M. Cherif Bassiouni’ on “75 Years: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and The Genocide Convention, organized by The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights, took place at the headquarters of the Institute and online, witnessing the participation of 60 attendees from over 30 countries of the world.
Professor William Schabas, the Course Director, opened the first session by warmly thanking all the participants and reminding them of the enormous legacy left by the founder of our institute, Professor Cherif M. Bassiouni, after whom the 22nd ICL course is named.
The course wrapped up with great participant satisfaction. This edition featured engaging sessions on international justice, human rights, genocide, and threats to global peace and order. We delved into crucial topics that hold immense significance and relevance. A heartfelt thanks goes to both participants and speakers who made this course organized by the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights truly exceptional.
