Regional Scientific Committee
The Regional Scientific Committee of the Siracusa International Institute is dedicated to promoting and coordinating conferences, seminars, projects, and studies in Sicily. Its mission is to strengthen the rule of law and advance the understanding and application of criminal law within both local and national contexts.
The Committee is composed of up to 21 experts, including magistrates, lawyers, prosecutors, academics, and representatives of civil society, who collectively bring diverse perspectives and expertise. The members elect a President to lead the Committee’s activities.
Each year, the Regional Scientific Committee submits a detailed report to the Board of Directors, outlining the activities conducted during the previous year and proposing initiatives for the year ahead. Through its work, the Committee plays a vital role in fostering legal development and upholding the principles of justice in the region.
