Between September 25th and 28th, the Siracusa International Institute is hosting the second “Training and capacity building of municipal officials in Libya“, a project implemented in the context of the international cooperation between the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). Welcome remarks were given on Saturday 25th by Judge Jean-François Thony, President of the Institute and former Prosecutor General of the court of Appeals of Rennes.

During the event, the memorandum “One hundred projects for a hundred cities” was signed. The agreement, which is based on the development of twinning and practical actions in the area, was signed by the president of the ANCI National Council, Enzo Bianco and by the spokesman of the association of Libyan municipalities and mayor of Zliten, Ahmadi Atahar Muftah.
